I've continued to have dealings with this group, and it CONTINUES to be night and day. I've experienced nothing but courtesy, an attitude of, "We're here to help YOU!!!" Almost without fail, there a friendly tone of voice!

ORIGINAL RATING — 1*️⃣ — One of the most deceiptful organizations I've ever had to deal with. They make promises about a "Patient Advocate" getting back in touch with me; that person never called me back, going on now for two months. I just received today (4/24/2014) a bill dated 4/21, of services provided on 3/26/14, and at the bottom they state "Your account will be considered for collection action if no payment in 10 days." Even though I owe Meritus not a dime.

Once you have been Misdiagnosed, doctors will often follow the previous misdiagnosis & label you as a liar or mental or drug seeker. Doctors often deny medical errors. It's no wonder Medical Errors/Misdiagnosis is causing Death in America. They will quickly prescribe pain medications & injections without proper testing or diagnosis. I have been lied to, lied about, and judged inappropriately by many of these doctors. May God Help Us All! Please report your Misdiagnosis & poor treatment before it's too late & you end up with Permeant Damage! I have spoken with two directors here regarding this, and it did not help. Perhaps they all need to attend classes regarding Their Problem. I would love to see a support group formed for those who have suffered with these same issues. Treating patients for symptoms without finding cause of the symptom is not the answer! Soon after the horrendous experiences I had in early 2014, I had the opportunity to get acquainted with and then speak at length with Meritus' then recently installed CFO, Thomas T Chan. He immediately apologized for the experiences I had, and spoke about both shorter and longer term Patient Accounts changes he and his department envisioned.

Some rude fat lady named deannah and some latin american lady with a nasty tumor or something on her neck came to my er room and took my blood. terrible experience. they didnt even ask how i was doing or explain everything to me. my husband had to wait in the waiting room for an hour just to be able to come back and see me. the nurses were rude as well, and everything just seemed out of place and hectic. i will not recommend this hospital to anyone, and i will never return. hospitals really should not be this way. something should be done about this

Eventually Tom terminated the contract with the company which handled patient accounts (so poorly overall, as it turned out, not just with me), and brought it within Meritus (if I understand it correctly) here in Hagerstown. WOW, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!
