One of the larger, if not largest, schools in the county. Many opportunities offered to excel in education, community service, sports, and more. As a student, I have learned that nothing will be handed to you. If you put forth enough effort and show a strong enough desire to be apart of something, whether it be among the elite academic students or student body representatives, you will be given a chance to thrive. Every class has a teacher who is willing to sacrifice their time to stay after or come in before school to help their students catch up or understand a confusing topic; it is the student who has to take make the EFFORT and show they have enough PASSION to excel in school. This means they would be willing to give up an extra hour of sleep, video games, or practice. Any negative connotation associated with South Hagerstown High School should be silenced within the next few years because with the new administration, South High will be the school parents of other school districts will be negotiating to send their students to.
